I bring extensive experience in small business, tourism, maritime operations, financial counselling, conciliation and dispute resolution, and volunteer service to my role as a Councillor.
As a business owner, I understand the pressures faced by local operators and the importance of Council acting as a genuine partner in supporting business success.
Running businesses has shaped my approach to disciplined financial decision-making, responsible risk management, investing in people, and innovating through challenging economic conditions.
As an advocate for individuals and families in crisis during the Black Summer bushfires, the COVID-19 pandemic, floods, and periods of drought, I have stood alongside residents who have lost homes, livelihoods, stability, and hope.
These experiences have reinforced my belief that a caring, responsive, and community-focused Council is essential to community resilience and recovery.
Through my work in conciliation and dispute resolution, I have developed strong skills in active listening, identifying common ground, de-escalating conflict, and supporting parties to reach fair and sustainable outcomes.
My vision for East Gippsland is a region that is stronger, fairer, more connected, and prepared for the future.
I am committed to fostering a Council that supports existing businesses, removes unnecessary barriers, and actively supports community groups and volunteers who are central to the wellbeing of our towns and districts.
I believe strongly in proactive community engagement and decision-making that is both evidence-based and ethical.
My focus is on delivering transparent governance and sound financial management that meets community needs and ensures the long-term prosperity of our region.
