I have been a self-employed fisherman for 42 years. My wife, Dianne, and I have five children.

I have represented the fishing industry at the state level for many years, and in 2013 I was recognised as an “industry icon”.

My long-standing involvement in the local community includes serving on school councils, the Lakes Entrance Action and Development Association (LEADA), and the Lakes Entrance Garden Cemetery Committee.
