Purchase of land by East Gippsland Shire Council.

Section 112(3) of the Local Government Act 2020 came into force on 1 July 2021 and states that any purchase or compulsory acquisition of land by a Council must be undertaken in accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy.

As such, this Public Notice serves to inform the East Gippsland community of the purchase of land that East Gippsland Shire Council has made, as follows:

• 440 Bengworden Road, Bairnsdale and 488 Bengworden Road, Bairnsdale

Purchased on Friday 26 June 2026 to support environmental offsets as part of the Bairnsdale Airport Runway extension.
