We take privacy seriously and applies safeguards to all surveillance activities.
Surveillance is not used in private areas such as toilets or change rooms. Access to surveillance information is restricted to authorised personnel and only used for legitimate purposes.

If you are seeking access to surveillance footage, the process depends on where the footage was captured.
Footage from public-space CCTV in Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance is managed by Victoria Police. Requests for this footage should be made directly to Victoria Police.
For all other Council-held footage, requests can be made under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 or the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (where the footage relates to you).
All requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and access may be limited where required by law.
Surveillance footage is securely stored and is generally retained for a short period, typically up to 31 days.
In some circumstances, footage may be kept for longer where it is required for an investigation, legal matter or formal request. Footage is securely destroyed when it is no longer required.
