Road renaming proposal – Colony Club Circuit NEWLANDS ARM to “Ironbark Circuit’

Council is proposing to rename Colony Club Circuit to ‘Ironbark Circuit’.  

The location and extent of the road proposed to be renamed is shown below:

The extended community is invited to provide feedback on this proposal.

Background

Council has received a reports of property address duplications causing confusion for responders in emergency situations and other service providers (Colony Club Drive and Colony Club Circuit).

Affected property owners have now been contacted for feedback regarding this naming proposal. During a meeting of property owners, a preferred name was agreed upon for this renaming proposal ‘Ironbark Circuit’.

Black Barked Eucalyptus – Ironbark trees grow along Colony Club Drive and on Colony Club Circuit.

The above proposed road renaming adheres to the Naming rules for places in Victoria– Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities 2022 (the Naming Rules) and Australian New Zealand Standard for rural and urban addressing AS/NZS 4819:2011.

Submissions

This proposal complies with the Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2022.

Affected property owners/ratepayers/occupiers are being consulted regarding the renaming proposal and Council will advertise the results of this consultation in due course.

Community members are invited to respond to this proposal before its formal consideration by the Registrar of Geographic Names Victoria.
