Metung-Nungurner District comprises of the following localities: Metung, Nungurner, Tambo Bay, Boole Poole, Nyerimilang, Tambo Bluff and Mosquito Point.
Located on a thin peninsula on the shores of Lake King and Bancroft Bay, the tranquil village of Metung is primarily a residential area with a high proportion of non-resident owners. It is almost entirely surrounded by water and is a popular boating area and a favourite destination for holidaymakers.
Nearby Nungurner is as a small residential lakeside hamlet with high environmental values and natural habitat with an attractive lake foreshore as the focal point of the community.
A draft concept design was released for public discussion in February 2018 as part of the Metung Village Centre Master Plan development.
