Transparency

Council IQ brings transparency to local government by presenting Council data in a clear, accessible way for residents and communities.

Under sections 133 and 134 the Local Government Act 2020 Councillors, the Chief Executive Officer and nominated officers (nominated by the Chief Executive Officer) are required to submit a personal interests return each March and September.

Councillors are required under section 130 of the Local Government Act 2020 to disclose conflicts of interests with respect of a matter to be considered at a Council meeting. Councillors are to exclude themselves from the decision making process (discussions and voting) in relation to that matter.
