10-Year Waste and Recycling Transition Plan
The East Gippsland Shire Council 10-Year Waste and Recycling Transition Plan sets out how we’ll deliver sustainable, affordable services that reduce landfill, protect our environment, and move towards a circular economy.
Asset Plan 2026-35
This Asset Plan communicates the way we manage our community’s assets to support delivery of services such as such as sport and recreation, transport, community health, stormwater management and waste management services.
Coastal and Marine Management Plan
The Coastal and Marine Management Plan provides a coordinated framework for managing Council-managed coastal reserves across East Gippsland. Developed in line with Victorian marine and coastal legislation, the plan sets a clear direction for balancing protection, access, recreation, environmental stewardship and community aspirations.
Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct promotes and reinforces the values and behaviours we live to deliver great outcomes for our community and to establish an environment in which staff can contribute at the highest possible ethical and professional standard.
Culture and Creativity Strategy 2022-2032
The Culture and Creativity Strategy 2023–2033 lays out an ambitious vision for the future and a roadmap for how to get there. It’s designed to build on our strengths and set us up to show the rest of the state, the country – and indeed the world – what makes us unique.

This strategy outlines who our customers are, how they communicate with us and how we will meet their expectations.
Domestic Animal Management Plan
Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP) 2026–2029, reinforcing its commitment to keeping pets healthy and happy while ensuring parks, streets, and public spaces are safe and enjoyable for everyone.
Economic Development Strategy 2022-2032
This 10-year Economic Development Strategy builds on the vision shared by Council and our community for a region that enjoys a sustainable and prosperous economy.
Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2022-32
The Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2022-2032 is Council’s key environmental policy document, guiding work across Council to achieve objectives for climate change, biodiversity, land and water management and resource efficiency.
Gender Equality Progress Report
This report provides an update on the East Gippsland Council’s Gender Equality Action Plan 2021 to 2025 for the period up to 1 July 2023 and shows our ongoing commitment to being a gender equitable organisation that is free from violence, supportive and inclusive.
Housing and Settlement Strategy
The purpose of the East Gippsland Housing and Settlement Strategy (HSS) is to guide the future development of our settlements and location and design of new housing in East Gippsland to 2041.
Position Paper - Native Timber Harvesting in East Gippsland
This position paper outlines Council's support for a high quality, low volume native timber harvesting industry where our communities continue to thrive, forests have multiple uses and biodiversity is protected.

Road Safety Strategy 2024-2029
This strategy outlines how council as the Road Manager for municipal road will work with the community and road users toward the state strategy to halve road deaths and reduce serious injuries on our roads by 2030.
Rural Land Use Strategy
This Rural Land Use Strategy (RLUS) is the first of its kind for East Gippsland. The Strategy supports a diversity of agricultural enterprises of various scales, promotes emerging opportunities for rural industries, boutique farming, rural tourism, and recognises and protects important environmental and landscape values.
