Farmers and businesses have access to a range of free and responsible waste disposal options across our shire. From recycling chemical containers and silage wrap to safely disposing of unwanted agricultural chemicals, these programs help keep valuable materials out of landfill while supporting better farm waste management and environmental outcomes.
Farmers can dispose of their used drumMUSTER containers in a sustainable and safe manner through this program, with collected containers recycled into wheelie bins, fence posts and garden stakes. Supported by AgVet chemical manufacturers, industry stakeholders and state and local governments. DrumMUSTER drop off points include Bairnsdale, Lindenow, Omeo and others.

The ChemClear program provides safe collection and disposal of unwanted agricultural and veterinary chemicals, including safe handling, storage, transport and disposal. Farmers can register their unwanted chemicals online and take advantage of local collection points and scheduled pickups.

Silage wrap is a major waste problem in Australia’s agricultural sector with over 8,000 tonnes used annually and usually disposed of on farms or in landfill.
East Gippsland farmers can now recycle their silage wrap for FREE by dropping it off at Benambra, Omeo, Swifts Creek or Marlo transfer stations.
