Community Impact Grants
Community Impact Grants provide between $3,001 and $20,000 for community development or environmental sustainability initiatives.
Applications closed in October 2025.
In total thirty- six (36) applications were received and have been recommended for funding under the grant funds, representing Council funding contribution of $461,595.55 toward projects with a combined delivery value of $811,594.55.
The recipients include:
- Tambo Valley Golf Club Inc- New water pump, $3001.00
- Australian Marine Mammal Conservation Foundation - Burrunan Watch: Community Conservation for our Lakes Dolphins, $19,279.00
- Wildlife Unlimited- Predator impacts and our threatened wildlife, $3,500.00
- Omeo Community Hall and Hub- Installation of glass screens and sliding doors to maximise heating and cooling of the Omeo Soldiers Memorial Hall, $5,000.00
- Romawi Landcare Group- Wings over East Gippsland: Helping Peregrine Falcons find a home, $10,000.00
- Newlands Arm Landcare Coastcare Group- Firewise Protection, Education & Engagement, $3,610.00
- Bairnsdale Speedway Association Inc- To build an environmental catchment dam, $18,059.00
- Newlands Arm Residents and Ratepayers Association (NARRA)- Alteration of community hall to allow access to public toilet, $4,000.00
- Mange Control Inc- Eradication of mange from habitat areas, $5,760.00
- Mallacoota Youth & Sports Club Inc- Deep clean and maintenance coat of main hall playing surface post building renovations, $16,500.00
- Noorinbee Public Purposes Reserve CoM- Autumn Harvest, $3,020.00
- Genoa District Community Group (GDCG)- Genoa History Park- Heritage interpretation and signage, $10,000.00
- Lake Omeo Committee of Management- Drought proofing the Omeo Lake and Benambra residence, $9,059.00
- Swifts Creek Recreation Reserve Committee of Management- Install dishwasher to meet food handling standards, $4,520.00
- Bairnsdale Pony Club Inc- Purchase of portable Cross Country jumps for use by the Bairnsdale Pony Club and other equestrian organisations, $10,000.00

- Community events can be funded through Category 1 (Small Grants) and Category 2 (Impact Projects).
- Arts and Culture Grants will be supported through future grant opportunities (separate from Community Grants and Impact Grants Program).
- Visitor events and major events are supported through Council’s Pathway to Growth program (separate from the Community Grants Program).
- Category 1 (Small) and 3 (Partnerships) are not available as part of this grant round.
Community Small Grants
Council’s Community Grant Program provides funding opportunities for East Gippsland based community groups and organisations.
Through this program, Council supports a wide range of projects that strengthen our communities, encourage environmental sustainability, social connection, health and well-being, and social inclusion and cultural diversity.
The objective of the Community Grants Program is to provide local community-based organisations the opportunity to access funding for a variety of needs and initiatives in a manner that is open, transparent and accountable.

In total 28 (72 applications) applications received have been recommended for funding under the grant funds, representing Council funding contribution of $56,209.57 towards projects of a total delivery value of $114,914.78.

Council is committed to supporting those who have missed out on grants in previous rounds. Guidance and feedback will be offered to help these groups refine their proposals and prepare for future funding rounds.
Grants available for community Australia Day events
Are you part of a community group holding an event to mark Australia Day?
We have small grants available for community organisations to help them celebrate Australia Day in a way that is meaningful to the local community.
To support as many towns as possible, we are only able to award one grant per town. We would like activities on Australia Day to be free, however, we understand organisers may seek some donations to subsidise other costs.
