Community Impact Grants
Our Community Impact Grants Program supports East Gippsland based community groups and organisations with funding for projects that strengthen our communities, encourage environmental sustainability, social connection, health and wellbeing, and social inclusion and cultural diversity. The program aims to provide local community-based organisations the opportunity to access funding for a variety of needs and initiatives in a manner that is open, transparent and accountable.
There are two funding categories:
Small Grants (up to $3,000) for:
- Community strengthening activities and events
- Governance enhancements
- Training and development
- Promotions
- Small equipment purchases
Impact Grants ($3,001–$20,000) for:
- Larger community development projects
- Environmental sustainability initiatives
Community events can be funded under either category, depending on scale.

Applications for the current round are now open and close Monday 14 September 2026.
To apply, your community group or organisation will need to register via the SmartyGrants platform (first-time applicants only).

Grants available for community Australia Day events
Are you part of a community group holding an event to mark Australia Day?
We have small grants available for community organisations to help them celebrate Australia Day in a way that is meaningful to the local community.
To support as many towns as possible, we are only able to award one grant per town. We would like activities on Australia Day to be free, however, we understand organisers may seek some donations to subsidise other costs.
