Finishing school, looking for a fresh start or just curious about what's out there? The East Gippsland Jobs Expo is a great place to start.
On Thursday 8 October, local employers, training providers and employment services will be at St Mary's Parish Hall, ready to chat about jobs, career pathways and training opportunities across East Gippsland.
It's a great way to connect. You'll speak directly with the people who know these industries best, while employers share their current and future workforce opportunities.
The Lindenow Lions Club will be firing up the barbecue for lunch, and local schools will be bringing their senior students along to see that opportunities could be closer than they think.
Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the Jobs Expo was a win for job seekers and local businesses alike.
"This is about people and businesses coming together, face to face, to see what's possible right here in East Gippsland," Cr Ashworth said.
"Council is proud to back our local businesses and the economic growth of our region, and events like the Jobs Expo help us do that. They give employers a chance to show what they've got on offer and help keep skills and talent in our community.
"So come along, have a chat and make some connections. You never know where it might lead."
The East Gippsland Jobs Expo is being delivered in conjunction with Workforce Australia and the Skills and Jobs Centres, as part of Council's work to strengthen the local workforce, support our businesses and keep skills in East Gippsland.
