Farmers across East Gippsland and Wellington have more time to complete the Looking Ahead Farmer Survey 2026, with the closing date extended to 9 October 2026.
Mayor Cr Jodie Ashworth said the extension was about making sure as many producers as possible had the chance to contribute.
"We know how busy things get on the land, and we'd rather give farmers a bit more time than miss out on their voices," Cr Ashworth said.
"This is a rare opportunity to directly influence how agriculture is supported and advocated for across our region. Whatever you farm and however big or small your operation, we want to hear from you. If farmers don't take part, their views can't be represented, so please take a few minutes to fill it in."
East Gippsland Shire Council and Wellington Shire Council are working together, alongside the East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority, on the survey, which will help inform a new advocacy document to guide discussions with State and Federal Governments.
