Council recently notified the community of a proposal to name popular walking trails in Lakes Entrance ‘Waterfront Walk’ and Kalimna ‘Jemmys Point Loop Walk’ and ‘Mount Barkly Walk’. The extended community was invited to provide feedback on this proposal.

Having considered all the feedback received, Council has made a final decision to accept the naming proposals. The naming proposals will now be submitted to the Registrar of Geographic Names for consideration and inclusion in VICNAMES – the Register of Geographic Names.

Once the naming proposal is endorsed by the Registrar and registered in VICNAMES, Council will complete the implementation process forthe new road name and notify all relevant authorities, affected property owners and update road signage accordingly.
