We wish to advise that roofing works will commence at the main entrance and eating area of the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC) from Monday 21 September 2026.
Purpose of the works
The works are required to address issues with the existing roof structure and ensure these areas remain safe, functional and accessible for patrons and visitors.
Access arrangements
BARC will remain open and fully operational throughout the works, with all regular programs and services continuing as scheduled. A clearly signed diversion will guide patrons safely to the facility entrance for the duration of the project.
At various stages, sections of the foyer, cafe and eating area may be temporarily closed to accommodate construction activities. These closures will be carefully managed and kept to a minimum to reduce impact on patrons, user groups and visitors.
Timeline
The works are expected to take approximately four weeks and will be carried out in stages to minimise disruption to facility users and daily operations.
Note: Intermittent closures within the café area between 21st September 2026 and 3rd October 2026
Safety
For your safety, please follow all onsite signage and directions, and remain outside designated construction areas at all times.
