Council will apply to register the legacy/common name of a laneway at Mallacoota – Dots Lane.

For many years the Mallacoota community has recognised the laneway extending from Maurice Avenue to Bruce Street, as Dots Lane. The name complies with the principles of the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria.

The naming proposal will now be submitted to the Registrar of Geographic Names for consideration and inclusion in VICNAMES – the Register of Geographic Names.

Once the naming proposal is endorsed by the Registrar and registered in VICNAMES, Council will complete the implementation process for the new road name and notify all relevant authorities, affected property owners and update road signage accordingly.
