To support the upcoming works, Council has asked that all boats, kayaks and other watercraft currently stored along the foreshore near Backwater Court are removed by Monday 25 May 2026.

Council, in partnership with the Paynesville Landcare Group, will soon begin upgrades to a 372-metre section of the Dinni Birraark Walk between Backwater Court and Kellina Court at Newlands Arm.

The works will improve safety and accessibility along the popular walking trail and include shoreline stabilisation works to help protect the foreshore environment.

Temporary access restrictions will apply within active work areas while construction is underway. Updates will be provided via the YourSay East Gippsland website.
