Work has begun to replace the ageing timber bridge at Howitt Park with a stronger, safer and fully accessible crossing, making the Mitchell River Circuit Walk easier for everyone to enjoy.
The bridge is now closed with completion expected in December.
Some market stall sites will also be temporarily unavailable while work is underway. We have met with the market operators to discuss arrangements.
The boat ramp and park will remain open throughout construction.
