Behind every strong community are people who show up, give their time, and make things happen - and Jodie York is one of those people.

As National Volunteer Week approaches (18–24 May), we’re celebrating the dedication of our staff who volunteer in their own time. Today, we’re proud to recognise Jodie, our Place Facilitator – East, who also acts as a key link between Council and the Mallacoota community.

For more than a decade, Jodie has supported local organisations including the Mallacoota District Business and Tourism Association, Mallacoota and District Kids Inc, and Mallacoota Events Inc. Her contribution spans community life, from schools and early childhood services to local events and programs such as the Wild Harvest Seafood Festival, Visit Mallacoota, Judo, Auskick and Playgroup.

Jodie’s energy, generosity and long-standing commitment continue to make a lasting difference in Mallacoota.
