East Gippsland Shire Council is proud to present the 2025 Seniors Festival, a month-long celebration of connection, creativity and community delivered as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival. The Victorian Seniors Festival is a major statewide initiative that runs from 1 to 31 October every year, offering thousands of free and low-cost events for older Victorians.
Throughout October, East Gippsland will host more than 60 free and low-cost events for seniors and the wider community to enjoy. From creative workshops and art exhibitions to live performances, health and wellbeing activities, come-and-try days, morning teas, luncheons and dinners, there is something for everyone.
The festival celebrates older residents, supports positive ageing, and encourages connection. Whether it’s revisiting a lifelong passion, trying something new, or simply meeting new people, the program is designed to spark joy and bring the community together.
Highlights include the much-loved free Seniors Concert starring Glenn Starr, who will perform classic hits from the 1960s on Monday 13 October at Club Eastwood.
A wide range of local activities will also be hosted at libraries, service centres and community hubs across the shire.
The East Gippsland Seniors Festival Guide is now available:
Victorian Seniors Card holders can also take advantage of eight days of free public transport across Victoria, from 5 to 12 October 2025, including all metropolitan services, V/Line train and coach services, and selected regional bus services.
Council extends a big thank you to all contributors and partners who have helped make this year’s East Gippsland Seniors Festival not only possible but the biggest yet.
