With warmer weather on the way, East Gippsland Shire Council is reminding residents to make sure their pools and spas are safe and meet state safety regulations.
To help, Council has launched a new Pool and Spa Safety Barrier Compliance Inspection Service, giving property owners another simple option to meet their obligations.
For $385, the service includes:
Victorian regulations require all pools and spas capable of holding more than 300mm of water to have a compliant safety barrier. They must also be registered with Council if they remain erected for three or more consecutive days. Otherwise, owners must either register by the fourth day or dismantle the structure.

Council’s new service is optional – residents can continue to engage a private registered building inspector if they prefer.
