Conversations on rebuilding

Community members impacted by the bushfires are invited to join Council’s Rebuild Support Service for a conversation about rebuilding after the bushfires. 

The sessions include guest speakers include Steve Pascoe, an emergency management and bushfire safety consultant and community recovery mentor who will share his lived experience on recovery and rebuilding after a fire event. 

Caroline Larcher, Council’s Coordinator Rebuild Support Service (RSS) will talk about how the RSS can support you in your rebuild as well as the range of assistance available. 

East Gippsland Shire Council General Manager Bushfire Recover Stuart McConnell said it’s a chance to have any questions answered about your rebuilding and to hear from Steve Pascoe bushfire survivor who has been through the rebuilding journey.  

“Join us in a community setting for an opportunity to find out how the specialised service can help you by providing advice on planning and overall rebuild needs, financial rebates and other supports available,” Mr McConnell said.

 

Dates and locations are:

4 March: Noorinbee Community Hall, 6pm

9 March: Club Terrace Recreation Reserve, 6pm

10 March: Mallacoota Mudbrick Pavilion, 6pm

11 March: Wairewa Community Hall, 6pm

16 March: Sarsfield Recreation Reserve, 6pm

17 March: Buchan Recreation Reserve, 6pm

*A session was held in Orbost last night.

 

Other agencies involved are Bushfire Recovery Victoria, Gippsland Lakes Complete Health and the Victorian Council of Churches.
