East Gippsland Shire Council is working towards a Tuesday, December 26 opening date; however, routine maintenance has identified some issues that Council is working to address.
Contractors identified issues with the pool’s shell and plumbing system. Mechanical plumbers, divers and pool specialists have been brought in to investigate these issues further and work to rectify the issues before December 26.
Chief Executive Officer Anthony Basford said pool maintenance staff continue to prepare and de-winter the pool for its2023-24 season.
“It is Council’s goal to have the pool open by Tuesday, December 26; however, we cannot guarantee at this time that will becase. We will keep the community updated as the situation evolves,” Mr Basford said.
Council will continue to share updates as it monitors the situation.
