At its meeting held on Tuesday 16 March 2021, Council determined that for the period 2020-2024 Council term it proposes to maintain annual allowance for the Mayor and Councillors at the levels set by Council for the 2016-2020 period.  These are: 

·        Councillors          -           $26,245; and

·        Mayor                  -           $81,204    

As mandated by the Victorian Government, in addition to this allowance Councillors will receive an amount equivalent to the superannuation guarantee contribution (currently9.5%).

Council would welcome feedback on this proposal.  Written submissions received at Council’s Corporate Centre, 273 Main Street, Bairnsdale3875, by 5.00 pm on 19 April 2021 will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.

Anyone making a submission should indicate whether they wish to be heard in support of their written submission. Anyone wishing to be heard is entitled to appear in person, or by a person acting on their behalf, at a meeting comprising the whole of Council with a quorum being five Councillors that will take place on Tuesday 27 April 2021 at 1.30 pm at Council’s Corporate Centre,273 Main Street, Bairnsdale or via skype depending on COVID restrictions.
