A well-known family in the district, the Trewin brothers (William, Jack, and Albert) settled on the Snowy River floodplains in the late 1800s; south of B Road near Nixons Road.  The Trewins supported the local community, and were involved in both the Orbost Racing Club and the Agricultural Society.  During the second world war, Albert (Jack) Trewin [son of Albert (Abby) and Hazel] and James Trewin [son of George and Elizabeth] served their country; Albert in the RAAF and James in the Australian Imperial Forces (army).

This proposal complies with the Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2016.

Community members are invited to respond to this proposal, prior to its formal consideration by the Office of Geographic Names.  If you would like further information please contact Linda Bullen - Rates and Property Officer (Naming) on 03 5153 9500.
