Road naming proposal - Marlo

Council has received a submission to name an unnamed road in the locality of Marlo “Murraloo Road” as shown below:

 The extended community is invited to provide feedback on this proposal.

 

Background

The name Marraloo (Murra – loo) has been put forward for the naming of this unnamed road for its link to place. The names meaning to indigenous names is that it belongs to the now known name of Marlo.

 

This name was put forward by an elder of the Aboriginal community and has been approved for use by Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation on behalf of the Traditional Owners of this land.

 

Submissions

This proposal complies with the Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2016.

 

Community members are invited to respond to this proposal, before its formal consideration by the Office of Geographic Names.
