Road naming proposal – Mount Taylor

Council is proposing to name an Unnamed Road in the locality of Mount Taylor “Aurora Close”. The location and extent of this new roadway created as part of PS 814893 is shown below (circled Red).
The extended community is invited to provide feedback on this proposal.

Background

Council considers the access way (above) should be named due to the distance and location from Mount Lookout Road and the requirement to ensure each property is clearly and easily identified, particularly for emergency service vehicles.

 

The name Aurora Close was chosen by affected property owners, Aurora is the name of one of the several gold mines founded in the Mount Taylor area.

 

This proposal adheres to the Naming rules for places in Victoria– Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities 2016 (the Naming Rules) and Australian New Zealand Standards for rural and urban addressing AS/NZS 4819:2011.

 

Submissions

This proposal complies with the Naming rules for places in Victoria – Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities – 2016 (The Naming Rules).

 

Community members are invited to respond to this proposal before its formal consideration by the Office of Geographic Names.
