Paynesville - Eagle Point Boundary Realignment

Council is considering a proposal to amend the locality boundaries between Paynesville and Eagle Point.
The proposal is to relocate the boundary further west along the road centre of Waterview Road and North along the road centre of Bay Road. Details of the existing and proposed boundaries are shown below.

Affected residents and ratepayers will be consulted individually and the extended community is also invited to provide feedback on this proposal.

Background

Council has reviewed the proposal and considers it appropriate as it allows for future development of the land to the west of Waterview Road to be included in the locality of Paynesville, as identified in Council’s Eagle Point Structure Plan.

This proposal adheres to the Naming rules for places in Victoria– Statutory requirements for naming roads, features and localities 2016 (the Naming Rules) and Australian New Zealand Standards for rural and urban addressing AS/NZS 4819:2011.

In accordance with the Naming Rules locality boundaries must align with the cadastral fabric, road centre lines or easily distinguishable topographic features such as waterways or ridgelines.  The existing boundary follows property boundaries and does not currently comply.

Submissions

Community members are invited to provide feedback on this proposal, before it is submitted to the Office of Geographic Names.

If you do not support the proposal please indicate why and/or demonstrate why the proposal does not comply with The Naming Rules.
