Background

The Shannon Waters Estate is split by the current Hillside / Bairnsdale locality boundary.  A number of allotments have the current boundary running through the middle of their property along with a number of other properties affected by addressing issues within the Shannon Waters Estate.

Council proposes to move the Hillside / Bairnsdale locality boundary from its current position, relocating it to Mittons Road (to the west) and terminating at the Mitchell River (as shown above).

Council believes this placement is better as it is less likely to create confusion for emergency and communication services reducing the risk to public safety.
