Council is looking at the options for creating dog off leash areas across the shire and are seeking people and groups who would like to contribute to our reference group.

The group will review how dogs and their owners interact with our community and public places.

Dog owners and non-owners are invited to participate.

Group members will actively support the project and act as champions for its goal, providing input and advice to the project team on draft documents including:

  • Determine the parameters for areas to be declared as dog on leash

  • Test the proposal from a community perspective

  • Review and comment on the proposed public consultation process

Members will represent the whole shire. Please include details on the below section criteria in your application:

  • Professional qualifications

  • Background, ie experiences with responsible pet ownership, dog behavior and/or public spaces

  • Relevant interest

  • Who you are representing (an organisation or yourself)

  • Whether you dog owner or not

There will be a minimum of two and a maximum of three meetings for the group held in March and April.

To register your interest email us by 5.00pm on Friday 1 March.
