Bruthen and District

Bruthen and District comprises of the following localities: Bruthen, Wiseleigh, Mossiface, Fairy Dell and Double Bridges.

Once a rest stop for fortune hunters heading to East Gippsland’s gold diggings, the village of Bruthen is set at the fork in the road between the High Country, Gippsland Lakes and the hinterland.

Twenty-four kilometres from Bairnsdale on the Great Alpine Road, Bruthen oozes country charm and historical character. The East Gippsland Rail Trail cuts through Bruthen and many of East Gippsland’s bushwalks start in the area.
