Visiting speakers for Errinundra to Snowy planning

Thursday 07 February

East Gippsland Shire Council is calling all people who live in Goongerah, Bendoc, Tubbut, Bonang, Cabanadra, Deddick Valley, Haydens Bog, Delegate River, Dellicknora and surrounds to get involved in updating their community district plan for 2019–24.

Council officers are working in partnership with the communities of the Errinundra to Snowy District along with key agencies to develop and implement the plan.

Council’s Director Community Strategy Kate Nelson said at the last community workshop in December, community members agreed that the name Errinundra to Snowy District was more reflective of the region than the previous name ‘Mountain Rivers’.

“The name change reflects the geographical location of the district and the places the community feels connected to,” Ms Nelson said.

“At the workshop, the community identified a range of expertise and information it wanted in order to make informed decisions regarding the review of their community plan.”

A series of sessions are now scheduled in the lead up to the Making it Happen – Creating the Plan Workshop to be held on February 20.
