Both outdoor pools open this weekend

Friday 17 March

The Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool will join Orbost in being open this weekend to help residents make the most of the warm weather.

Bairnsdale's outdoor pool traditionally closes on Labour Day while Orbost can remain open longer due to solar heating.

With a burst of warm weather due this weekend, council staff have decided to re-open the Bairnsdale Outdoor Pool this Saturday and Sunday from 12.00 - 7.00 pm.

Season Pass holders and members will be able to access the facility as normal.

The Orbost Outdoor Pool season runs throughout Easter; the pool will close at 5.00 pm on Monday 17 April.

For information on casual entry prices, visit our outdoor pool pages.

Council pools participate in the ‘Watch Around Water’ program which means:

  • Children under 5 must be constantly supervised by an adult who is within arm’s reach whilst they are in the water.
  • Children aged between 5 and 10 years must be constantly supervised by a responsible adult.
