Water Replacement and Bush Fires 2019

People affected by the bushfires can apply for a tank clean and water replacement

DELWP and East Gippsland Shire Council have received many calls from residents advising that their main source of drinking water (water tanks) has been contaminated due to the fires.

DELWP have recognised this situation and have put in place a process for residents to receive a one-off, clean of 1 water tank and water top-up of 5,000 litres.

The criteria to apply for this service:

This service is for residents who have had their only potable drinking water supply contaminated as a result of the Gippsland fires.

This does not apply to those residences who have tank water and reticulated water (town water) and does not apply to the supply of water for livestock.

Potable Water definition:  “Drinking water, also known as potable water, is water that is safe to drink or to use for food preparation”.
