Australia Day Awards 2021 – nominations open

Nominations are now open for the 2021 East Gippsland Australia Day Awards.

 

Award categories are: Community Event of the Year; Citizen of the Year; and Young Citizen of the Year (under 27 years). 

 

We will present shire-wide awards which focus on those who have made a significant contribution to the region.

 

Nominate using the 2021 Australia Day Awards Nomination Form or visit a Customer Service Centre for a printed form.

 

Nominations close 9 December 2020

 

 

Australia Day 2021 Town Events 

Start your Australia Day celebrations with a community breakfast at any of the following town events:

  • Bairnsdale at the Rotunda from 7.30am
  • Bruthen at the Main Street gardens from 8.30am
  • Cann River at Mick Baum Park from 8am
  • Lakes Entrance at the Mechanics Hall from 8am
  • Lindenow at Lindenow Hall from 7.30am
  • Omeo at the Courthouse Gardens from 8.30am
  • Orbost at Forest Park from 7.30am
  • Paynesville near Progress Jetty from 8am
  • Twin Rivers at Johnsonville Hall from 10.30am

26ers Club

The 26ers Club, run by the Australia Day Committee Victoria, is open to all Australians born on January 26.

Membership is free and includes a birthday card and lapel pin every year from the Department of Premier and Cabinet and the opportunity to join in the cake cutting at the official Australia Day ceremony.
