Guidelines for Documents for Public Inspection

Section 82A of the Local Government Act 1989 requires Councils to maintain an Internet website.  In addition, section 82 (2)(c) of the Act requires that certain documents are made available for public inspection and that information about how a member of the public can examine each document on the list is published on Council’s website.

General Municipal Election 2016 Candidate Donation Return Summary

Section 62A of the Local Government Act 1989 requires candidates in an election, within 40 days after election day, to provide the Chief Executive Officer an Election Campaign Donation Return ('Return'). 

Details of the Returns received must then be reported to the Minister for Local Government and a summary of the Returns made available on Council's website. 

The summary must contain the name of each candidate who has lodged a return, details of any gifts disclosed including the name of the person who made the gift, and the total value of any gift received from that person.

This summary is presented in the table below.

This summary will remain on Council's website until the entitlement date for the next general election.  The Chief Executive Officer is required to make available a copy of the Return for inspection at Council's office for a period of four years from the date it is given.  If you would like to view a copy of the Returns, please contact Governance Officer on telephone 03 5153 9500.
