Mosquito Control

Monitoring, treatment and complaints.

Lakes_Entrance_Aerial_mosquito_photo.jpgMosquitoes are a part of the natural environment, but at times they can cause a nuisance and even certain diseases.

East Gippsland Shire Council's Mosquito Control Program operates 12 months of the year, with the aim of reducing mosquito numbers and providing information to local communities.

Mosquito Control Program areas

The main areas of Council’s Control Program are:

  • Point Fullerton
  • Matheson’s Swamp
  • Kangaroo Enclosure Swamp
  • North Shore Swamp
  • Ninth Parade Swamp
  • Macleod’s Morass
  • Jones’ Bay
  • Upper Newlands Arm
  • Tambo Bluff

Not all mosquito breeding areas are under the Shire’s control (areas such as private and crown land).
