Rules, information and contact details for Council-owned stopover campgrounds.
Maximum 48 hours per visit

Our stopover facilities offer amenities and clean water onsite.
There is no power and only cold water at all of our stopover facilities.

You cannot make a booking or check availability as these sites are on a first-arrived first-stay basis.

Payment or donations are not accepted for stops at these sites, so we encourage any travelers wanting to contribute to the facility to support local businesses that are within the township they are visiting.

Fire safety

  • No fires are to be lit on campsites or on the ground. You must use a designated fire pit if there is one available.
  • Strictly NO FIRES during fire restrictions or total fire ban days.
  • Ensure your fire is extinguished completely before leaving your site and never leave a fire unattended.

Cann River Rainforest Caravan Park

Notice: Cann River Rainforest Caravan Park Earthworks Occurring 12 to 19 March, 2024. The East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority will be undertaking riverbed stabilisation work adjoining the Cann River Rainforest Caravan Park. Potential impacts to caravan park guests may include increased noise from heavy machinery, increased traffic and river access will be closed to the public. We appreciate your understanding during this time and ask you to avoid the cordoned off area while works are being undertaken.

Genoa is located in far east Victoria, only a 10-minute drive away from the NSW border and a 20-minute drive from Mallacoota.
