Mallacoota Aerodrome is located approximately 7km southwest of the Mallacoota town centre, 263km south-east of Canberra and 519km east of Melbourne.

The aerodrome is situated on Crown Land of which East Gippsland Shire Council is the nominated Committee of Management.
Mallacoota Aerodrome facilities support a number of commercial aviation enterprises including:
- aerial firefighting
- corporate charter
- medical services such as air ambulance
- air freight
Mallacoota is the fifth largest town in East Gippsland Shire and is a popular tourist destination with numerous lakes, rivers, forests and beaches that encompasses the Croajingolong National Park. Mallacoota is also the home to Victoria’s largest abalone fishery.
Mallacoota’s remote location and close proximity to the ocean makes it an excellent destination for training aircraft from the West and North and as a base for aircraft servicing offshore facilities or search and rescue operations.
