Hot Weather and Heatwaves

Staying Healthy in the Heat

The Victorian Government issues a ‘heat health alert’ when the weather is unusually and uncomfortably hot.

These alerts provide information on how to deal with the physical effects of extended periods of hot weather or ‘heatwaves’.

Heatwaves can make existing medical conditions worse and cause a heat-related illness, which may be fatal.

The Victorian Department of Health has more information on how to cope with the heat.
