Economic Development Strategies and Policies

Productivity is one of the four pillars of the East Gippsland Shire Council Plan. This plan assists to direct Council's resources and effort into activities that support business development, growth and diversity. In addition to the Council Plan, Council also has a range of policies and strategies that support economic development.

10 Point Economic Development Plan

In June 2011, the Council hosted a Premier's luncheon and presented the Premier of Victoria with a '10 Point Plan' for East Gippsland. The plan identifies six key opportunities for business improvement and growth that are identified as enablers, emerging industries and opportunities for transformation. Council continues to advocate to the Victorian Government in relation to the plan.

 

Education for the region

East Gippsland recognises that education is one of the foundations of community wellbeing and economic prosperity. Based on this understanding an Education Vision has been developed to articulate the strategic intent and aspiration for education in East Gippsland. This vision has been developed collaboratively with industry, educators, youth and local residents who share a commitment to the educational excellence of the region.
