Section 139 of the Local Government Act 1989 requires Council to establish an Audit Committee as an Advisory Committee of Council.
Council’s Audit Committee assists with and advises on financial reporting, internal control, compliance, provision of independent advice and risk management. The Audit Committee Terms of Reference/Charter guides the conduct of the Committee and is consistent with the Victorian Government publication, Audit Committees: A Guide to Good Practice for Local Government – January 2011.
