Audit Committee

Section 139 of the Local Government Act 1989 requires Council to establish an Audit Committee as an Advisory Committee of Council.

 

Council’s Audit Committee assists with and advises on financial reporting, internal control, compliance, provision of independent advice and risk management.

The Audit Committee Terms of Reference/Charter guides the conduct of the Committee and is consistent with the Victorian Government publication, Audit Committees: A Guide to Good Practice for Local Government – January 2011.

Audit Committee Membership Vacancies

Council is currently seeking nominations for the appointment of one (1) external independent member to the Committee for an 18-month term.

Prior to submitting a nomination, you should obtain the Nomination for Membership Pack containing the following:

  • application form for nomination to the Audit Committee;
  • copy of Audit Committees - A Guide to Good Practice for Local Government; and
  • Audit Committee Charter.

 

Completed nominations must be lodged with the Chief Executive Officer by no later than 2.00 pm on Friday 18 May 2012 via:
